PhilMusic.com first went online in 1997 and is currently the longest running website focusing on Philippine music news and communities, as well as one of the recognized pioneers of Philippine web content.

Through its history, PhilMusic has been instrumental in introducing the power of the Net to the Philippine music industry. PhilMusic�s efforts in bringing about this sea change have been recognized by the web industry. From 1998 to 2003, the site won an astounding two awards per year at the Philippine Web Awards � both the judges and the people�s choice � in the Music category. The sole exception was in 1998 when the site was awarded the PLDT website of the year award, besting all categories. That�s a total of ten awards. In 2005 the website was inducted in the Hall of Fame of the awards body.

PhilMusic in 2007 wears its legacy well and remains an authoritative independent source of what�s happening and hip in the local music scene, from the past, present, and future of OPM. Few web domains from the dawn of the local Internet can claim to be as relevant today as when it started.
